I began my LWES journey on the 29th March 2021. Like most people, while losing weight is a battle, mine has been coupled with the fight to control my Type 2 Diabetes.

After one (1) month of being on the KetoDiet, together with intermittent fasting, I saw some fantastic results: my A1C was down to 6.3% (May 2021 test result) from 9.3% (February 2021 test result)! AND, my endocrinologist took me off of all insulin (I was on two types: long lasting once a day and fast acting with each meal)…this was the best news of all!

As of now, I only take oral medication (Metformin) as a transition from the insulin and Victoza to help my body better produce its own insulin. I hope to be off both these medications after my next check up!

I test my blood glucose a few times during the day and the numbers have been consistently low. I can only attribute this to the KetoDiet and the intermittent fasting. My body is healing itself…WIN! WIN! WIN!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

For me, getting better control of my diabetes has been my focus. Nevertheless, I am pleased that I have lost 10 lbs since beginning my journey. I take on intermittent fasting as a welcome challenge (to date, a 36-hr fast has been my longest undertaking!) and I have become mindful of how my body responds during my fasts: for example, slight headaches mean “drink more water!”

I’m in this for the long haul and I am enjoying the ride!!!
